VOLUNTEERING @ VINNIES SHOP TO RAISE FUNDS

We are grateful for those who continue to donate clothing and household goods to our centres. These donations go a long way in supporting those in need through funding our different service projects.
This crew of Vinnies Youth have been busy running the Kingsland Vinnies Sale to raise funds for the Kingsland foodbank. We wish to thank them as well as all shop volunteers who continue to work hard for many hours on end serving customers, sorting stock, cleaning and merchandising stock.

RESOURCING PARTNER SCHOOLS

It brings a sense of hope when people look beyond themselves and take the time to attend to the needs of others.
The wonderful Manager Mike Swan & staff from Polynesian Shipping as well as the lovely Tash of the University of Auckland coordinated a significant contribution for Chanel College in Samoa. There was a mayday call last year from the College seeking school furniture as many of their students due to the lack of funds had to go without chairs and desks. These generous donors have organised free cartage of 2 classroom lots of chairs from University of Auckland.

RESPONDING TO THE CALL

Earlier in the week we put out a mayday for volunteers to help deliver food and gifts across Auckland. These wonderful  Vinnies arrived today and wasted no time – sorting gifts and food for last minute requests that came through. During a visit from Clare Murphy, president of East Area Council, numerous other Vinnies arrived to assist in drop-offs, running the shop as well as putting together food hampers for families.
